As a professor of Mechanical Engineering here at MSU I intend to protest your protest.

I am offended not by cartoons, but by more mundane things like beheadings of civilians, cowardly attacks on public buildings, suicide murders, murders of Catholic priests (the latest in Turkey), burnings of Christian churches, the continued persecution of Coptic Christians in Egypt, the imposition of Sharia law on non-Muslims, the rapes of Scandinavian girls and women (called 'whores' in your culture), the murder of film directors in Holland, and the rioting and looting in Paris France.

This is what offends me, a soft-spoken person and academic, and many, many of my colleagues.

I counsel you dissatisfied, aggressive, brutal, and uncivilized slave-trading Moslems to be very aware of this as you proceed with your infantile 'protests.'

If you do not like the values of the West - see the 1st Amendment - you are free to leave.

I hope for God's sake that most of you choose that option.

Please return to your ancestral homelands and build them up yourselves instead of troubling Americans.

Professor of Mechanical Engineering As you can imagine, the Muslim group at the university didn't like this too well. They're demanding that Wichman be reprimanded and the university impose mandatory diversity training for faculty and mandate a seminar on hate and discrimination for all freshmen.

Now the local chapter of CAIR has jumped into the fray. CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, apparently doesn't believe that the good professor had the right to express his opinion. For its part, the university is standing its ground in support of Professor Wichman, saying the e-mail was private, and they don't intend to publicly condemn his remarks.

Former President Jimmy Carter is in the Middle East this week making a mockery of Western resolve to defeat Islamofascism. Carter is scheduled to meet with Hamas leader Khalid Meshal in Damascus on Friday, a meeting he tried to justify by saying, “I’m just trying to understand different opinions and provide communication between people. …So I think if he does have anything constructive to say…then I would bring that to other people.” For those who may not fully comprehend Hamas or the man Jimmy Carter wants to “understand,” here’s a quote from Meshal in 2006: “Before Israel dies, it must be humiliated and degraded. Allah willing, before they die, they will experience humiliation and degradation every day. Allah willing, we will make them lose their eyesight, we will make them lose their brains.” How “constructive” is that?

Yesterday, Carter hugged and kissed a leading Hamas official and honored the terrorist thug Yasser Arafat by laying a wreath on his grave. Of course, the former president is not authorized by the U.S. government or anyone else to negotiate anything. But his decision to sit down with the leaders of Hamas, a group that has the blood of innocent Israelis and Americans on its hands, is deeply disturbing. Hamas has one overarching goal -- the destruction of the state of Israel. Along with Ahmadinejad of Iran, Hamas desires a second Holocaust. On what basis does one negotiate with such evil?

Meanwhile, the Palestinian ambassador to Lebanon, Abbas Zaki, said last week on Lebanese television, “…after we take Jerusalem, Israel’s ideology will collapse altogether, and then we will proceed with our own ideology, if Allah wills, and we will throw them [Jewish Israelis] out of all Palestine.” Also last week, Yunis al-Astal, an imam and Hamas member of parliament, told Palestinian worshippers in a sermon Friday, “Very soon, Allah willing, Rome will be conquered, just like Constantinople was…” He described Rome as “the Crusader capital, which … has planted the brothers of apes and pigs in Palestine in order to prevent the reawakening of Islam,” and declared that it would become “an advanced post for the Islamic conquests, which will spread through Europe in its entirety, and then will turn to the two Americas…” ]]>Israel's recent contributions to mankindhttp://a-i-s-h.squarespace.com/journal/2008/4/14/israels-recent-contributions-to-mankind.htmlJoel2008-04-14T23:09:11Z
(What has the Muslim world accomplished in the same period of time?)

1. Scientists in Israel, found that the brackish water, drilled from underground desert aquifers, hundreds of feet deep, could be used to raise warm-water fish. The geothermal water, less than one-tenth as saline as sea water, free of pollutants, and a toasty 98 degrees on average, proves an ideal environment.

2. Israeli-developed designer-eyeglasses, promise mobile phone and iPod users, a personalized, high-tech video display. Available to US consumers next year, Lumus-Optical's lightweight and fashionable video eyeglasses, feature a large transparent screen, floating in front of the viewer's face, that projects their choice of movie, TV show, or video game.

3. When Stephen Hawkins visited Israel recently, he shared his wisdom with scientists, students, and even the Prime Minister. But the world's most renown victim of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or Lou Gehrig's disease, also learned something, due to the Israeli Association for ALS' advanced work in both embryonic and adult stem cell research, as well as its proven track record with neurodegenerative diseases. The Israeli research community is well on its way, to finding a treatment for this fatal disease, which affects 30,000 Americans.

4. Israeli start-up, Veterix, has developed an innovative new electronic capsule that sits in the stomach of a cow, sheep, or goat, sending out real-time information on the health of the herd, to the farmer via Email or cell phone. The e-capsule, which also sends out alerts if animals are distressed, injured, or lost, is now being tested on a herd of cows, in the hopes that the device will lead to tastier and healthier meat and milk supplies.

5. The millions of Skype users worldwide, will soon have access to the newly developed KishKish lie-detector. This free internet service, based on voice stress analysis (a technique, commonly used in criminal investigations), will be able to measure just how truthful that person on the other end of the line, really is.

6. Beating cardiac tissue has been created in a lab from human embryonic stem cells by researchers at the Rappaport Medical Faculty and the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology's biomedical Engineering faculty. The work of Dr. Shulamit Levenberg and Prof. Lior Gepstein, has also led to the creation of tiny blood vessels within the Tissue, making possible its implantation in a human heart.

7. Israel's Magal Security Systems, is a worldwide leader in computerized security systems, with products used in more than 70 countries around the world, protecting anything from national borders, to nuclear facilities, refineries, and airports. The company's latest Product, DreamBox, a state-of-the-art security system that includes Intelligent video, audio and sensor management, is now being used by a major water authority on the US east coast to safeguard the utility's sites.

8. It is common knowledge that dogs have better night vision than humans, and a vastly superior sense of smell and hearing. Israel's Bio-Sense Technologies, recently delved further, and electronically analyzed 350 d ifferent barks. Finding that dogs of all breeds and sizes, bark the same alarm when they sense a threat, the firm has designed the dog bark-reader, a sensor that can pick up a dog's alarm bark, and alert the human operators. This is just one of a batch of innovative security systems to emerge from Israel, which Forbes calls 'the go-to country for anti-terrorism technologies.'

9. Israeli company, BioControl Medical, sold its first electrical stimulator to treat urinary incontinence to a US comp any for $50 Million. Now, it is working on CardioFit, which uses electrical nerve stimulation to treat congestive heart failure. With nearly five million Americans presently affected by heart failure, and more than 400,000 new cases diagnosed yearly, the CardioFit is already generating a great deal of excitement as the first device with the potential to halt this deadly disease.

10. One year after Norway's Socialist Left Party launched its boycott Israel campaign, the importing of Israeli goods has increased by 15%, the strongest increase in many years, Statistics Norway reports. The "martyrdom videos" played to a London court and shown onBritish TV today are just chilling.

The eight men on trial (all are radical British Muslims) arecharged with plotting to detonate bombs aboard civilian airliners bound for the United States and Canada using explosives concealed in soft drink bottles. Prosecutors say they were close to carrying out their plan when they were arrested.

More than 1,500 passengers and crew would have been killed had the bombs gone off.

Yet none of the videos - so far as I can tell from some quite close scrutiny of the channels - are so far being aired on American networks even though they were made public many hours ago. As for the web, the only major American news site carrying one of the videos is ABC News.

It's not on the websites of CNN or MSNBC. CNN does cover thestory, but only with a watered-down article from the AP; there's no clip of it being covered on TV.

Among the videos not shown by many American and other TV networks, the British citizens who almost succeeded in carrying out the worst airline terrorism ever, other then 9/11:

Abdullah Ahmed Ali was caught on a wiretap telling his wife that he wished to bring his baby son along on the suicide mission. She resists. His suicide video, intended to become public after the planes blew up and shown at trial, promises "floods of martyr operations against you" and "your people's body parts decorating the streets."

Waheed Zaman studied biomedical science at London Metropolitan University. In his video Zaman says, "I have been educated to a high standard. I could have lived a life of ease but instead chose to fight for the sake of Allah's Deen [religion]."

Both of their sons have refused to serve as soldiers in the West Bank. LOST IN TRANSLATION: ABBAS THREAT TO ISRAEL

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas made a very militant anti-Israel speech this week, but most of its violent message was lost in translation, because Abbas used a somewhat obscure wording in Arabic.

"Let a thousand flowers bloom, and let our rifles, all our rifles, all our rifles, be aimed at the Occupation," declared Abbas using an apparent reference to the old oratory of Communist leader Mao Tse Tung.

Even non-Arabs well-schooled in Arabic had trouble figuring out the strange verb from "da'a" used by Dr. Abbas, but it is a command form that means "let us" or "leave us begin to" from the weak Arabic verbal root Wa-da-'a (Waw, Dal 'Ayin).
